Energy Transitions in a Time of Crisis

Welcome to the first edition of our newsletter offering an overview of recent EFI activities.

Everyone at the Energy Futures Initiative sends their best wishes to our funders, supporters, and affiliates during this time of pandemic and social unrest. Like every organization in the country, EFI was faced with the challenge of continuing operations during the COVID-19 crisis. However, our mission to promote science-based energy solutions continues without interruption. Our staff shifted to remote work in mid-March, with workshops, analytic projects and technical assistance to Congress taking place through virtual meetings. As the District of Columbia rolls out staged reopening plans, the downtown neighborhood around EFI’s offices remains largely shuttered. Therefore, it is difficult to set a date when EFI’s operations will return to pre-pandemic conditions.
